I knew Sara and I would be a good fit from our initial phone conversation. She is positive, organized, and a genuinely nice human. I also learned that she is an incredibly strong woman with a HUGE heart. More on that soon...
If you are not familiar with Candlelight Farms Inn, one of the most unique aspects of their space is a beautiful hangar that works as blank canvas for wedding celebrations. It is located next to the 26 acre private pond and along a prop plane airport which makes a GORGEOUS backdrop.
Sara and Dom wanted their wedding to feel welcoming and casual, but also elegant. Since they are very involved in drag racing, they wanted to incorporate the feeling of being at a race. They accomplished this by having multiple food and beverage trucks setup outside the hangar, as well as an awesome cabin photo booth.
Upon arrival guests made their way to a welcome tent for pre-ceremony drinks, and a chance to sign the couples personalized canvas. They were then escorted to the gorgeous ceremony where they were about to witness a very special walk down the aisle.
A little back story...
Sara and Dom were planning on getting married in September of 2020, but a horrific accident three weeks before their wedding day changed that. The accident left Dom in a coma with severe burns all over his body, and the uncertainty if he would make it. The burns were so bad, he had to have both of his legs amputated.
Through an extreme amount of perseverance, positivity, and support from Sara, Dom was able to walk with prosthetics less than a year after his accident.
On their wedding day they wanted to celebrate this incredible accomplishment by giving Dom his walk down the aisle. They surprised their guest by having Sara walk down with her dad first, and then their guests stood as Dom walked to his beautiful bride.
I'm not crying, you're crying.
This was such an incredible moment for this power couple and their guests, and very special to witness.
Next it was time to celebrate! Guests were welcomed down to cocktail hour where Shake and Stir, and The Wanderer Traveling Bar were set-up and ready to serve cocktails and a variety of beer. Meanwhile Sara and Dom snuck away to take some pretty incredible pictures.
Everyone was welcomed into the hanger for a BBQ dinner under beautiful candlelight and greenery.
The night continued with the couple's first dance, some AWESOME speeches (including a rap by Dom's brother), and dessert served from Waffle and Dingne's waffle truck.
This was such an incredible day for them, and I am so glad I got to be part of it! If you would like to see more of this amazing day check out their video by Shutter and Sound!
